The role involves developing the Calypso back-office package, both in project mode and maintenance, as well as supporting the "run the bank" functions for our client. It requires a deep understanding of the nature of business operations, timing of activities & data flowing through internal and external systems. He/She/They will continuously work with business users, infrastructure engineers, and system managers.
Responsibilities
Develop Java applications for Calypso / Murex, adhering to established coding standards and best practices
Provide timely and effective support to business users and IT departments by resolving incidents and managing requests
Contribute to the monthly release strategy, ensuring adherence to team milestones for analysis, coding, and testing
Update existing software, enhance its capabilities, and develop and execute comprehensive testing procedures
Collaborate with other engineers to integrate hardware and software systems seamlessly
Participate in change management processes and support production roadmaps
Coach and guide junior team members to foster their professional development
Provide Level 3 support and bug fixes as needed
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field
Proven experience in Java, PL/SQL, and Linux
Minimum 5 years of experience with Calypso / Murex, with a deep understanding of Back-office functionality and hands-on experience in customizing various modules
In-depth knowledge of Confirmations, Settlement, Position, and Accounting modules, as well as a strong understanding of financial assets (repos, bonds, SLB, issuances) and the trade lifecycle
Experience with regulatory reporting frameworks such as HRF, NORIA, and MMSR
Experience in interfacing Calypso / Murex with external systems
Hands-on experience in implementing Calypso / Murex projects
Proficiency in GIT, Master Deploy, SVN, JENKINS, Kafka, Docker, and Kubernetes
Expertise in Oracle, Sybase, and MongoDB databases
Experience in implementing NR scenarios
Proficiency in developing microservices
Willingness to provide Level 3 support when required
