Overview: As a Payments Domain Architect, you will be responsible fordesigning and overseeing the architecture of paymentsystems and solutions within the organization. Leveraging your deep understanding of payment processing technologies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements, you will provide strategic guidance and technical leadership to ensure the development of robust, scalable, and secure payment solutions. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, including product development, engineering, and operations, you will drive the implementation of innovative payment architectures that meet business objectives and compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Architecture Design:
Develop and maintain the architectural roadmap for payment systems, ensuring alignment with business objectives and technical requirements.
Design end-to-end payment solutions that encompass transaction processing, settlement, reconciliation, and fraud prevention.
Define architecture principles, standards, and best practices for payment system development and integration.
Technical Leadership:
Provide technical guidance and leadership to development teams, ensuring adherence to architectural standards and design principles.
Collaborate with software engineers, solution architects, and other stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical designs.
Conduct architecture reviews and provide recommendations to optimize performance, scalability, and security of payment systems.
Industry Knowledge:
Stay abreast of emerging technologies, trends, and regulatory changes in the payments industry.
Monitor industry standards and best practices related to payment processing, including ISO 20022, EMV, PCI DSS, and PSD2.
Evaluate new payment technologies and vendors to assess their potential impact on the organization's architecture and capabilities.
Risk Management and Compliance:
Assess the security and compliance implications of payment system designs, identifying and mitigating risks.
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards governing payment processing, data protection, and fraud prevention.
Collaborate with compliance and security teams to implement controls and measures to safeguard payment data and infrastructure.
Stakeholder Collaboration:
Engage with business stakeholders, product managers, and executives to understand business needs and priorities related to payment systems.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to prioritize and roadmap payment system initiatives, balancing business requirements with technical feasibility and architectural considerations.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (Master's degree preferred).
Extensive experience (X years) in software architecture, with a focus on payment systems and financial services.
In-depth knowledge of payment processing technologies, including card networks, ACH, real-time payments, and digital wallets.
Strong understanding of payment industry standards, regulations, and compliance requirements (e.g., PCI DSS, GDPR, PSD2).
Proficiency in architecting scalable and secure distributed systems, cloud technologies, and microservices architecture.
Experience with enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF, Zachman) and modeling tools.
